I’ve had muscular neck pain in the back of my neck for over a week now. I say it’s muscular because it’s almost like I pulled a muscle – it’s hard to turn my head to look behind me, for example, while changing lanes while driving. I’ve slept the wrong way before, so I thought it would go away in a couple of days. It hasn’t. On either side of my spinal cord, it’s sore on the back of my neck, below my hairline. Now it’s even hurting at the top of my head! This morning even the sides of the front of my neck are sore.
I have no fever, dizziness, etc., or other symptoms (other than an ear feeling stuffy every now and then). What could this be, and why is it lasting so long? Is it tension? I’m going to call my doctor today to make an appointment. I do have a “lump” at the base of my neck (I’ve always had it, had it checked out when I was little, it was just part of my spinal cord, and it IS bone). Could that be causing the problem?
I also tend to sleep with my head a bit too high on 2 pillows (I have asthma, makes it easier to breathe. I’m thinking that may be the culprit, bad sleeping posture)? Thanks!

    Tears On My Pillow-Mya

Ooh Now it’s official You’re out of my life Too many tears I’ve cried I’m leaving the moments Behind on the shelf Believing in you Was hard for myself All your apologizes Outside the door I can’t waste my time on you anymore I’ve fallen much deeper than this before There’s no tears on my pillow No room for crying No tears on my pillow I left them behind And I found me a better place Somewhere inside And I know I won’t cry these tears any more Can’t say I’m selfish I trust in my heart I know what I want And it tears you apart Don’t worry about me Thinking of you My days are filled With too much to do The whole world is waiting For me to explore I can’t waste my time on you anymore I’ve fallen much deeper than this before No regrets, no sadness You’re not the first and you’re not the last man Somehow you had me trapped in your web But it won’t be raining When I hang my head down, oh No tears on my pillow I left them behind And I found me a better place Somewhere inside And I know I won’t cry these tears Won’t cry these tears anymore, ooh Tears on my pillow, ooh No more tears on my pillow, oh I do not own this song.

    What Is Nack Pain?

During our lives, many of us will have neck pain, and most of us won’t know exactly what caused it. In fact, neck pain can start from a whole range of causes. Maybe you slept funny and woke up with a crick that won’t go away. You might’ve been rear-ended in your car and now you have whiplash. Perhaps you twisted it wrong one day in one of those high-intensity aerobic classes.

Even though most of us will experience neck pain, we won’t all feel it in the same way. Sometimes, it’s just on one side of your neck; sometimes, pain shoots down your arms. A problem in your neck may even cause terrible headaches or dizziness. Symptoms may be gone in a few days, or you may have long-term pain that limits what you can do every day.

No matter what’s causing your neck pain, it hurts, and you’re probably very eager to get rid of it. However, as you may guess since there are so many causes and symptoms of neck pain, there are many ways to treat it. You can use over-the-counter pain medication. Acupuncture is an option, as is massage. Most people with neck pain don’t need surgery, but it may be best for you and your pain. So as you can tell, neck pain isn’t quite as simple as “just” a pain in the neck, but by learning more about it, you’ll be better able to deal with it.
